**ALERT**  Pataki Proposed Budget New York State.

REVOKE ALL LIFETIME PISTOL LICENSES

Governor Pataki has proposed a budget (2004-2005) for the State of New York which contains an amendment to revoke all lifetime pistol permits.  The five year permit will have a renewal fee of $100.  Additional $25 fee for all amendments to the license and the removal of all caps by the local legislature.  Giving the local offices full authority to impose any additional fees they deem necessary.   The renewal comes with an added NICS check even if you are not purchasing a firearm.  There is wordage in the proposal that would require the license holder to list "..ALL FIREARMS CURRENTLY POSSESSED."
